Foxes go under the sea!

28.09.18

What we have been learning this week

This week in English the children have been busy writing their own non-fiction booklet about their chosen sea creature. They have learnt about titles, subtitles and keeping facts short. They have been focussing on using their phonics to support their spelling.

In maths we have looked at one more of a number and one less. We now know what happens to a number when we count on and when we count back.

During topic this week children have been exploring more about the ocean. They have been doing this through role play, atlas and map work, as well as looking at which animals are found under the sea or on land.

What we shall be working on next week

Next week the children will be learning and innovating their own story based on the book "Tiddler the story telling fish". In maths the children will be using the language greater than and less than to compare and order numbers.

How you can help with home learning

Please see the home learning that has been given to your children in their book bags today. An English and maths activity will be sent out on alternate weeks. Spellings will be sent home weekly and reading is a daily activity.
