Badger Class and their charity work!

What we have been learning this week
Badgers have had an exciting week this week preparing for their Macmillan Coffee Morning. One of the highlights of the week was making chocolate brownies that the children, as waiters and waitresses, served to their guests!
Weighing and measuring ingredients and calculating the time that it took to cook the brownies was a great real life maths experience, as well as counting the money raised from the coffee morning itself, which the children did today.
What we shall be working on next week
As part of our continuous provision - ongoing learning through a range of practical learning experiences - the children will be using a range of coins to buy cakes in their class cafe. Having raised money for a charity it will be an ideal opportunity to learn the value of the coins to buy small items.
How you can help with home learning
Please see the home learning that has been given to your children in their book bags today. An English and maths activity will be sent out on alternate weeks. Spellings will be sent home weekly and reading is a daily activity.
