Visit from the Specialist Neighbourhood Police Team

02.10.19

On Wednesday 2nd October St John’s C of E Infant school was visited by members of the Specialist Neighbourhood Police Team. Our topic this term is Marvellous Me and we are meeting many marvellous people. They spoke to all the classes in our school about their role in our community.

We tried on different parts of uniform that police officers wear on different occasions. Then we explored a police car, its radio, the lights and the siren. Finally, we enjoyed adding our fingerprints to our junior police officer certificates.

Mrs Stevens, Head of School, said “The children learned a valuable lesson about how the police are here to support everyone in need – it’s not just about arresting robbers!”

We thanked the Police officers for coming, and as our value is thankfulness this term, we also thanked them for all the work they do to help people and keep us all safe in our community.
