Foxes become story writers!
12.10.18
What we have been learning this week
This week in English we have become story writers. We have been using the model, and language used in the story "Tiddler", to plan and write our very own story. The children have thought of a different character to be in their story and have planned different tall tales that their character would tell.
In maths we have started to think about addition. We have been thinking about numbers being whole and splitting that number into two parts to write an addition number sentence. This has encouraged the children to think of different ways to make numbers.
Meanwhile, in computing this week, the children have been learning how to programme. They investigated what each button did on the Bee-Bot and began to give each other instructions to move it. This also gave the children a chance to practise their left and right. They also designed their own Bee-Bot street and challenged their partner to get to different places on the map.
What we shall be working on next week
Next week in English the children will be writing the ending to their version of "Tiddler", and then evaluating their work by thinking of how they could improve next time.
