Fox Class go fishing!

What we have been learning this week

This week in English we read the well known story, "Tiddler the Story-telling Fish".  The children have been making up actions to go with the story and they have learnt parts of it off by heart. They were able to story-map the repetitive part of the story and add some of their own ideas as well.

In maths this week we have been comparing numbers. We have introduced the language 'greater than', 'less than' and 'more than'. The children have used this language to compare numbers and also learnt the symbols <, > and = to go with the language.

Also this week we have discussed the creation story in RE. We talked about God being a creator and discussed which was His most important creation and why we thought that. We also chose suitable musical instruments to represent a different creation.

What we shall be working on next week

Next week in English the children will be creating their own version of the story "Tiddler the Story-telling Fish", focusing on capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.

In maths the children will be looking at addition of 2 numbers.

How you can help with home learning

Please see the home learning that has been given to your children in their book bags today. An English and maths activity will be sent out on alternate weeks. Spellings will be sent home weekly and reading is a daily activity.
