Badgers and the Kalahari!

What we have been learning this week
Badgers have been getting creative this week designing and writing up their final copy of a postcard from Sunny to his parents in the Kalahari Desert! They have also been using maps to investigate the route that Sunny would have had to take to find his way to our wonderful school in Churt.
In maths we have continued to work on adding and subtracting multiples of 10 to embed last week’s learning. The children have been using Diennes to help them with this, as well as playing a fun counting game, using themselves as the multiples of 10!
What we shall be working on next week
Next week the children will be focusing on problem solving using their knowledge of adding and subtracting multiples of 10. They will also be creating their own fact files on meerkats using the information which they have gathered from internet research and books.
How you can help with home learning
Please see the home learning that has been set this week. In addition, please encourage your children to add and subtract multiples of ten in real life. For example, using money ask your children how much money you would have left if you spent 10p, 20p, etc.
