Rabbits get messy!

What we have been learning this week

Well, we ended last week with an investigation into soap and bubbles - it was great fun and we learnt lots of things about shape, size, colours. We used the soapy surface to write and draw in.

This week has seen us feeling thankful for all the lovely food we have to eat.  We have focused on bread, with the story of "The Little Red Hen" and baking our own bread. We shaped our bread into hedgehogs and used our fine motor skills to make the spikes with scissors. We worked together well and our hands got lots of exercise! It also involved following instructions, counting and using timers.

What we shall be working on next week

We will be reading the story "Pumpkin Soup" which again brings us back to sharing and turn-taking. We also look forward to making our own harvest soup - we know Dr Lifestyle would be pleased with us eating all our vegetables. We will start learning our letter sounds too so look out for letter learning sheets in our book bags.

How you can help with home learning

Please, please help us to be as independent as possible, putting on our own coats, socks, jumpers, etc.  All items of uniform need to be named, and also can you please check all your jumpers/cardigans at home as we have already had some children with lost uniform.

Help, as well please, with with our letter learning this week.

General Information

This week we welcomed Max to our class and we look forward to learning together.

And, finally, a quick reminder from The Farnham Herald that the photographs they took recently of all new Reception classes in local schools will be printed in the 12 October edition.
