Rabbits just love Forest School

09.11.18

What we have been learning this week

Well, the first group finished their block of forest school sessions with a special treat!  Perfect for bonfire week.

We have continued to learn our letter sounds and build words with them. We are practising our oral story telling so we can tell you a story on Tuesday afternoon at our Storytime Assembly. We are so proud of you all for speaking so clearly.

Our careful counting has helped us build rockets with the correct number of gunpowder blocks. Each time we tried to make the next rocket we found we needed to use one more block.

Also this week we have continued to discuss and demonstrate this term's value as we behave peacefully

We have enjoyed learning and caring for our school nocturnal animals and we have even built them some homes to sleep in. We also learned how to make firework pictures on the computer. We used the fill tool to make the page black. We then used various other tools to make effective firework designs.

What we shall be working on next week

Nest week we will be reading “Can’t you sleep little bear?” which will lead to us making and ordering different sizes of lanterns. We will continue to work on one more and one less activities. We will also discuss hibernation.

How you can help with home learning

Can you build a home for a hedgehog in your garden? Keep practising your counting and how many would you have if you have one more? How many poppies can you spot this weekend?

General information

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday for our Storytime Assembly.

Please look out for an envelope regarding the NHS Weighing and Measuring Programme coming home this bookbags tonight. Please can you return the consent form by next Friday even if you would to decline.
