Badgers at the Dockyard!

02.11.18

What we have been learning this week

Badgers have had a great first week back. Our visit to the Portsmouth Dockyard was lots of fun and the children had the opportunity to explore HMS Victory which was so exciting!  During our Workshop the children learnt lots about how life on board the ship would have been, and found out some disgusting facts which I’m sure they will have shared with you!

In English this week we have been learning how to use dictionaries.  The children have been finding words in the dictionary and writing the definitions down.  They are going to be great at checking the spellings in their work now that they have this skill!

What we shall be working on next week

Next week we will be continuing to work on addition in maths and will be writing about our exciting trip to the HMS Victory in English!

How you can help with home learning

Please see the home learning that has been set this week.  In addition please ensure children are reading daily and remembering to bring in their reading records and book every day.

General information

Please note children have PE outdoors on Mondays, for which they will need:

  • Trainers that fit
  • Socks (for girls who have tights on)
  • Jogging bottoms as the weather seems to have turned now
  • Fleece or similar as an extra layer

If you could ensure your children are equipped with these things it would be greatly appreciated. We also have indoor PE on a Wednesday, so please pack shorts in their kit bag for this as well.

I look forward to seeing you all for Parents’ Evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
