Rabbits and their letter learning!

03.11.17

What we have been learning this week

Welcome back to a very busy week!  It was great to hear enthusiastic voices asking “Which letter are we learning next?” - you are all doing so well.

We arrived back to new areas in our outside learning - a creative kitchen and a stage. We have to thank the PTA for supplying our kitchen! We are so very lucky.

Look at how much we enjoyed using this - we have been pouring, estimating, measuring, stirring and all the time, expanding our language and friendships.

Also this week we have been learning about Diwali and have been using this to inspire our creations in the kitchen and act out the story of "Rama and Sita" on our stage. We also made Rangoli patterns.

What we shall be working on next week

Next week we will be discussing our experiences of fireworks and why we celebrate Bonfire Night.

We will be learning o, c and k.  We will be experiencing what happens when you get one more of something, and we will explore how to represent fireworks using art materials and ICT.

How you can help with home learning

Practise counting toys and food: how many if you had one more?  Everyone is becoming a fantastic storyteller, so please keep practising.

General Information

Please make sure you have put your child’s reading book and diary in their bag everyday.  There were lots missing this week and it makes changing books very difficult. Many thanks for your help.

On Thursday, 9 November we will be telling you a story at 2.15pm in the hall.  This is a story we learn off by heart to help us with our story language which will help us with our own story writing.  Afterwards you are invited to stay and share in the classroom, which is when you can come into the classroom and look at our learning with us. This coincides with our Official Library Opening Day which means there will be a book fair, selling books to celebrate the wonderful world of books.
