Rabbits love Forest School!

18.05.18

What we have been learning this week

We have enjoyed our Forest School learning so much this week, and seem to be growing in confidence each week!  We made our own spiderwebs, which took a lot of negotiating and working together, and we found a very fast frog. We also love learning about the trees that we pass each week on our way to Forest School.

This week we also heard a piece of music and tried to guess what it was about by listening very carefully. Rabbits, you had some great ideas and reasons for your answers - well done!  You were then inspired to draw your own story-map and write about it.

Also this week, we acted out the story of David and Goliath, discussing its message . There was some very good acting, and "improv", with some wonderful use of props!

And finally this week, we celebrated the Royal Wedding in style, so do take a look at our fabulous lunch to celebrate this event, with a big thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this possible!

What we shall be working on next week

We will be reading another Eric Carle book and a very big favourite, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”  We will also be writing lists of foods, making repeating patterns and working on our symmetrical art. Oh, and not forgetting our healthy eating, of course!

How you can help with home learning

Please keep practising your word cards so you can read them as soon as you see them without sounding out. Can you spot them in your reading book?  Maybe you could do some cooking, measuring the ingredients you need.

General information

Please can boys wear grey socks, especially as it’s shorts weather.  Thank you.

We will be going on a whole school trip on Wednesday, 6 June.  If you are DBS checked and would like to help, please let me know.
