Foxes learn all about castles!

11.05.18

What we have been learning this week

This week Fox Class has been learning about using the multiplication sign in maths. We put together different groups of objects and learned how that might look on a numberline. We have also been remembering how to count in 2s, 5s and 10s.

In English we have been learning about castles. We have also looked at leaflets and what makes them different from stories and other types of information.

In our topic work this week we have been looking at shields again, thinking about their significance and making our own versions with paper as well as with clay.

In music we have been playing the recorder.  We have been running in PE, thinking about how we can run faster ...

... and we even made human numberlines!

What we shall be working on next week

Next week we will be problem solving in maths, looking at what a question means and working out the calculation. We will also revisit doubling and halving in preparation for fractions.

In English, we will be creating our information leaflets about castles and their different parts. We will also look at why castles were built and where they were built.

How you can help with home learning

Please could you practice your child’s spellings with them and make sure that they are spelling the words accurately to follow. Our spelling test is on a Tuesday afternoon as usual.

General information

As the weather is warming up please ensure that all children have their water bottles in school daily and sunscreen is applied before they come to school - many thanks!
