Rabbits go exploring!

19.05.17

We enjoyed exploring positional language in many different ways including finding and describing where Caramel our Rabbit was hiding each day. We enjoyed hiding ourselves and then others described where they found us. We started making a run for the ball that went under and through, and then it became a course for children to take part in. We described both the way the ball travelled and the way we moved.

We have also explored patterns in maths, music and literacy. Our repeating patterns have improved throughout the week and we will continue to extend our pattern spotting. We have looked at two syllable words, clapping and stamping the patterns. We finger painted caterpillar patterns as well.

Show and Tell on Friday is such a delight at this time of year when you have all become such confident speakers. It is extra special when the objects you choose are related to our learning such as a book about telling the time, a rain stick from Africa to remind us of Noah's Ark, or a bird's nest including an egg reminding of us about the wonders of the world around us.

It is also great when friends show such an interest in your object and ask to explore your object with you. We are still trying to extend the questions we ask.

Your home learning for this week could be to play hide and seek and describe where you are looking for things, ie, is it next  to the television, behind the curtain, under the table?

Can you spot or make patterns with things at home?

Next week we are going to continue our work on "The Very  Hungry Caterpillar".  We are also really excited about our assembly on Thursday followed by our "Stay and Share" session.

Have a super weekend and we are looking forward to next week.
