Rabbits rescue the Gingerbread man

What we have been learning this week

We had an amazing day on Friday last week dressed as our favourite book characters. We shared stories - some old, some new and enjoyed all of them for different reasons.

We have explored the story of the Gingerbread man, learning it off by heart with actions, ordering the story. We have tried to develop ideas for a different ending to the story, to save the Gingerbread man. Could he have used a bridge or a boat?

We also learned about how Jesus helped Bartemaeus, so we explored what it would be like to be blind. We used blindfolds and then tried to guess who our partners were. We also tried to guess which shape we were holding without being able to see. We thought about how Bartemaeus would feel when he was blind and then when he could see.

What we shall be working on next week

We will be adding up in lots of different ways, we will be trying to find solutions to more fairytales. We will be trying to recognise emotions in ourselves and others.

How you can help with home learning

Keep practising your 40 acts of kindness - you are doing such a great things at school, keep them up at home too. We have been thinking about rhyming, can you read some rhyming stories?
