Foxes in their Fantastic Costumes

08.03.19

What we have been learning this week

What amazing costumes you all came in today! You were able to talk confidently about who you are and what book you are from. We have written down these thoughts and drawn ourselves - these drawings will be going on display next week. This week we have been busy with writing letters to the Giant who made a mess in the hall. It was certainly obvious the children had really talked about what they would write about at home! In maths we have carried on with place value, looking at counting and adding in 10s on a 100 square and counting in 2s. We have created maps in geography to help our friend Neon Red Crayon find his way home to Duncan.

Next week in english we will be looking at the book 'The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs' and at newspaper reports. We will be looking at different features of a newspaper in general before looking at the different features in more detail. In maths we will continue counting in 2s and then looking at 5s before we move on to beginning measurements at the end of the week.

How you can help with home learning

The children coped really well with 10 spellings last week, so to compensate for there being so many, we only have 6 this week. Once again please look out for the long vowel sounds in the words and looking at the unusual spelling of the last word, which is what we call a 'common exception' word. To finish off book week, please complete the book review sheet. This can be for any book, either one you can read yourself or one that is read to you. Have a lovely weekend!
