Foxes get messy with modelling clay

15.03.19

What we have been learning this week

It was so lovely to meet with most of you this week and share your children's progress with you. In class we have been busy learning about newspaper reports and the features of headlines and captions. In maths we have been busy counting in 2s and 5s and really understanding what a number needs to end in to be in one of these times tables. In R.E we have continued exploring our value of forgiveness through the parable of The Lost Son. We then got rather messy with clay. We were learning how to manipulate it and how to mould parts together to make sure they are secure. They loved it!

What we shall be working on next week

Next week in Maths we will be continuing with measurements and looking at different ways we can measure. In english we are continuing with newspaper reports. We will be looking at quotes and then where different information is put in a report to begin to write our own report. We will be building on our skills with clay to begin sculpture making.

How you can help with home learning

For spelling this week the children learnt the rule of 've' at the end of words, so please make sure you ask them to explain this week's spelling pattern to you. I am sending home a 100 square, please feel free to laminate it as I may send home future homework with regards to the 100 square. This week it is all about counting in 2s and 5s. Make sure the children use the 100 square if they still need to, and get them to spot the pattern.
