Foxes focus on writing reports

What we have been learning this week

This week we have been measuring in Maths using rulers and talking about how long things are, and begun to look at weight. In English we have continued with looking at Newspaper reports and thinking about where question words are placed in the text. We have also looked at sculptures in art and how they make us feel. A lot of us said it makes us feel calm, however, one of us said it makes them feel wild.

What we shall be learning next week

Next week in Maths we will be continuing with weight and looking at different ways we can measure. In English we are continuing with newspaper reports and reporting on a mystery event. We will be beginning to start our investigation in science and begin to think scientifically.

How you can help with home learning

For spelling this week the children learnt the rule of 'tch' after a short vowel sound so please make sure you ask them to explain this week's spelling pattern to you. Please help consolidate learning of measuring this week by measuring objects around your house and then talking about what is longer or shorter.

General Information

For the science investigation next week, we need to collect small sticks and some hay. If you are out and about at the weekend, please collect a small handful of sticks each. Also, if any pet owners could donate a small amount of hay, we would be very grateful!  Any queries, please see Miss Hill on Monday.
