Rabbits meet "The Three Little Pigs"!

16.03.18

What we have been learning this week

This week we have been inspired by the story of “The Three Little Pigs” to set up a building site. We really enjoyed setting this up and even had some Building Inspectors making notes!  We made links with this week's Bible story of “The Wise Man and the Foolish Man” and the fact that it’s best to use our “sticking at” learning tool to do things properly, even if that’s harder and takes longer than doing it quickly.  It's important to make sure the foundations are in place and you don't just rush to get finished fast!

We also really enjoyed our visit from Tara and Wey Assemblies Team who helped us learn about the Easter Story and the symbols we use.  We loved making our baskets - thank you so much!  Rabbits, you had some fantastic “big questions” you asked about the story and Christianity.

What we shall be working on next week

We will be reading the story, “The Billy Goat's Gruff” whilst learning the sound of  “oa”.

We also have a visit from Brilliant Bricks taking us on a fairytale adventure, and we also have Churt Nursery coming to visit us for some Easter activities.  We are going to be fantastic role models!

How you can help with home learning

We have been talking doubles this week and exploring the number stories you find on dominoes.  If you have a set of dominoes at home try playing a game of dominoes looking out for doubles, or perhaps rolling two dice trying to roll double numbers.

General information

Please join us at our class assembly on Wednesday, 21 March at 2.30pm, followed by a Stay & Share session where you can come and share your child’s learning together.

Please can I remind you that we would now be encouraging children by this point in the year to bring themselves into the classroom and organise themselves in the morning. They love the independence and it does make a quieter and calmer start to the morning for all.

Finally, we welcomed Finn to Rabbit Class this week - what a fantastic start you have made Finn!
