Rabbits meet Mr Wolf!

09.03.18

What we have been learning this week

Well, time flies so fast - and so does the weather - snow one minute and now it's gone!   So, this week in Rabbit Class we enjoyed the story of "Mr Wolf's Pancakes" in Book Week, which included a visit from Mr Wolf himself. The only way he would share his pancakes was if we wrote letters asking for forgiveness for the fairytale characters. We wrote such good letters Mr Wolf did share his pancakes with us. Yum, yum!

We also really enjoyed dressing up for Book Day this week.  There was a great range of characters and some super independent writing.

We learned to appreciate our sense of sight when we learned the story of “Blind Bartimaeus”.

What we shall be working on next week

Next week we will be getting ready for our assembly, making sure we can tell our oral story.  We will also be getting our construction hats on for the story of "The Three Little Pigs".

Our focus on sounds next week will be on ar and ow.  We will explore doubling numbers.

How you can help with home learning

Please continue to work on sorting coins.  Also, what about taking a trip to you local library in honour of Book Week - they are fantastic places to visit.  Or what about letting your child read you a story - let them choose one of their favourite story books and let them tell / read you the story.

General information

We are lucky enough to be having a visit from Brilliant Bricks on Tuesday, 20 March to go on a fantastic fairy tale adventure with Betty Brickley and Brad Brickston.  A letter giving further information will be coming home in book-bags next week.  I’m excited already!
