Fox Class and their animal stories

23.03.18

What we have been learning this week

This week the children completed their animal stories in English. It was fantastic to see evidence of story language, imagination and spellings and punctuation in their writing. Well done Foxes!

In maths the children have completed activities to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of what has been covered this half-term. They also spent time using rulers to measure objects and lines in cm measurement.

We also began discussing the Easter story this week. The children listened to the story and then thought about how such things as hot cross buns and Easter eggs are related to the story. They matched symbols of Easter to aspects of the Easter story.

What we shall be working on ext week

In English we will continue to learn about the Easter story. Children will be asked to sequence the main events and also consider whether Easter is a happy or sad time by sorting events from the story. In maths we will continue counting in 2s 5s and 10s. We will also be making Easter cards and doing some gardening.

How you can help with home learning

Please encourage your child to continue recognising and counting forwards and backwards in numbers to 100. As symbols of Easter pop up all around us, can your child talk about how these objects are related to the story of Easter in the Bible?

General information

Please don't forget that the children are asked to wear an Easter bonnet to the Easter Service next Thursday.
