Foxes and castles!

10.03.17

During this week, Fox Class wrote some sentences about the features of castles.

We then started using clay to make a castle model.

First we made rectangle shapes by rolling and cutting the clay....

and then we used tools to cut and score the clay to add the details.

In maths we have been learning to count in groups of 2, 5s and 10s and to share into equal groups.

First we used multi-link cubes to solve problems with objects and then we began using drawings to help us.

On Thursday we worked incredibly hard, using a range of Learning Tools to find out all about the different people who lived in castles.

The children were involved in "hot seating" and were able to identify the different roles the character was describing.  Each child went on to record and share their learning within the class.

Home Learning

It would be very useful for the children to have the opportunity to explore and use coins in a real context as we have continued to learn about the value of coins and notes this week.

Also, spellings and phonics homework was sent home this week on Wednesday (8 March).  Please ensure the children practise their spellings on a "little and often" basis - many thanks!
