Badgers Bid Farewell to Miss Shaw!

31.03.17

Badgers are Great Mathematicians!

This has been a somewhat unusual week for me!  The children have tried very hard, as always, and are so keen to do their best.  I was delighted with their maths on Wednesday where they so successfully applied their learning.  Many children were able to answer problem solving questions involving a range of maths with great independence, it was really encouraging.

We had a super day on Monday with the Easter Pause Day and all the children really enjoyed their experiences.  They wrote about their activities on Thursday and focused on using suffixes so there were many notes of the beautiful day, the wonderful activities and the happiness and sadness of Easter.

I am sending home a sheet of words with suffixes.  If you have a moment during the holiday, ask your child to read through, choose some words and make up a sentence or silly story with them.  They don't have to write it down, just be creative with the words they have in front of them.

And finally, I would like to thank you so much for all your kind words and gifts, it is quite overwhelming.  I am sad to leave and I know the children are feeling this too, but it was good to introduce them to their new teacher who is full of great ideas.  I am also looking forward to coming back for a couple of weeks in May, and I hope that beyond that, I will be able to visit sometimes and help out when necessary. Meanwhile, I shall look out for you around Haslemere where I am often trundling along with my border collie!

Have a very Happy Easter.
