Busy week for Foxes

21.06.19

What we have been learning this week

We started off this week with a bang and had a fabulous time at Marwell Zoo. When we returned to school on Tuesday we then showed off our fantastic writing skills in our recounts of the trip. It definitely showed how much fun the trip was. In Maths we have moved on to learning about position and direction and have been busy learning how to direct our partners around the hall and describe the position of objects in relation to one another. On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons we welcomed Rabbits into our class whilst some of us moved up to Badgers. It was lovely to see how well Foxes looked after the Rabbits and showed them around our classroom. In R.E we managed to dodge the showers and discover the features of a church - we showed very insightful thinking about the uses of the different features. I think everyone deserves a good rest over the weekend after such a jam packed week!

What we will shall be working on next week

Next week we will begin to practice Sports Day to get us ready for the big day. In English we will be looking at 'Setting' descriptions and thinking about our comments to go on our reports. In Maths we will be looking at money and understanding how much each coin is worth. On Tuesday we are going to St Ives School in Haslemere for their play Alacazam. Also this week we will be thinking about the similarities and differences between Churches and Mosques in R.E.

How you can help with home learning

Please practice directing objects or people around a route or around the house - more information is provided on the sheet in homework folders. On Tuesday afternoon we will be visiting St Ives school in Haslemere to watch their play of Alacazam. Children will need a packed lunch on this day and it will also be a late pick up time. With Sports Day fast approaching it is very important your child has a P.E kit in school every day as we will be practicing at any point throughout the coming weeks.
