Rabbits and a Naughty Bus!

15.06.18

What we have been learning this week

This week we have carried on with our work about journeys by looking at a painting by Christopher Nevinson which illustrates many different types of transport in London.  We chose part of the painting and sketched it ourselves. We are focusing on the buses in the picture so we read a story called "The Naughty Bus", which is about a child who takes his new toy on an adventure, and so we started to think of our own naughty toy stories.

We then went on to make our own buses.  We all collaborated, using our working together learning tool, to draw maps of bus routes - well done Rabbits for some great collaboration!

This week also saw Rabbit Class washing my very smelly socks, hanging them on the line in pairs, whilst counting in 2s. It was very kind of you all...!

Rabbit Class have also been thinking about the importance of the church to Christians this week, and we are very excited that the our church is 150 years old this year. Our Value this term is "friendship" and we are going to work hard on being the best friend we can be.  Maybe if you see us being a good friend at home you could fill in a “wow!” to share with everyone.

What we shall be working on next week

Next week we will be reading a story called “The Hundred Decker Bus” as we hope this will help us to invent our own buses for the future.

How you can help with home learning

You should have new word vocabulary flash cards this week. You have all done very well with the ones you have had so far, so please keep up the good work. Can you write them as well as read them?

Can you cut some of your food in half this week?

General information

There's a new Show & Tell letter going home today so please do look out for that.
