Badgers revisit measure

22.06.18

What we have been learning this week

This week in maths, Badger Class have been busy revisiting measure, by continuing to work on how to measure capacity and volume.  They were able to compare objects and estimate which would hold the most liquid.  They have also been able to measure accurately.

In literacy, as we finished our class novel of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", the children went on to write a character description based on Willy Wonker.  They were able to identify nouns and adjectives and think of their own to describe the character.

Also this week, Badger Class have been using their measuring skills in science too.  They were investigating why wheels are round. They chose a selection of 3D shapes and conducted a fair test to ensure everything stayed the same expect what we were testing.

What we shall be working on next week

Next week the children will be innovating their own story in literacy, and in maths the children will be moving on to solve measurement problems.

How you can help with home learning

Please support your child with how to measure capacity and volume, perhaps by experimenting making mocktails or, when cooking, let your child be involved in the process.
