What we have been learning this week
Badger Class entered a small world this week! They closed their eyes and imagined they had walked through a door that made them as tiny as mini beasts. To capture their imaginations, they found tiny versions of themselves on their tables, and we then used these mini characters to explore the playground. They had to think about what everyday objects might be like when looked at from a different perspective.
In maths we have continued to think about measure, but have also used our addition and subtraction knowledge to solve problems. The children were given a recipe for how to make a drink, a "mocktail", in fact! Not only did they have to measure the ingredients but also solve how much they would need for 4 or 6 people.
Badger Class have also been continuing to develop their art skills this week. There was something different in the playground on Thursday afternoon! We were very lucky to have a visitor bring in a beautiful old car which the children thoroughly enjoyed looking at in detail. They observed different parts of the car closely and sketched carefully.
Thank you to Mr Bennett and Mrs Harmer!
What we shall be working on next week
Next week the children will use their ideas from exploring with their mini pictures to create their own adventure story. They will also write a non-fiction text about Captain Cook.
In maths the children will look at position and direction.
How you can help with home learning
Please support your child at home by reading frequently and practising their spellings. You could also practise the 2, 3, 5 and 10 times table with your child.
