Rabbits Go Discovering!

16.06.17

Hello Rabbits

What we have been doing this week

We’ve had a very full week this week, with lots of learning, which culminated in our trip to the LookOut Discovery Centre in Bracknell. We had an amazing day with some hands-on science fun in the morning, which presented lots of challenges!  Can you open the treasure chest? Can you make a vortex? Can you make a hot air balloon rise? What is a shadow camera? Can you get the tiles up to the roof?   All these exciting questions, plus many more as you can see from the photographs!

After lunch we had an exciting lesson about bugs before heading outside for bug-hunting.

Rabbits, you were the most amazing bug hunters – we found ladybirds, grasshoppers, harvestmen, spiders, ants, as well as a caterpillar which we were told was a rare find!

We shared an amazing day and, once again, you made us very proud.

What we will be doing next week

Next week starts with our whole school trip during which we will use our senses to explore the wonderful enchanted world around us.  In the morning we will be appreciating various sculptures and the materials they are made from, and in the afternoon we will be marvelling at different habitats.

Also next week Rabbits will have the opportunity to visit their new class and meet their new teachers.  There will also be a chance to meet the new Rabbit Class children who will be joining us in September and helping to make them feel welcome.

Home Learning

For home learning this week could you go bug hunting in your garden? Can you find an insect with six legs and three body parts? Can you find something with antennas? Remember to care for the bugs that you find. Maybe you could write a story about your bug or draw a map of where it goes on i's adventures?

General Information

Finally thank you to all the parent helpers who supported our trip!  You were fantastic and made the day possible.
