Bouncing Badgers!

13.07.18

What we have been learning this week

Badger Class have had the most amazing week focusing on the true meaning of sportsmanship and friendship.

We had an amazing time at our Sports Day, where we put our learning tools into practice particularly sticking at it even when we found things challenging.

From balancing balls on bats, dribbling a hockey ball, bouncing in sacks to the ever popular skipping. You were all stars, you all joined in and tried your best. You supported each other and cheered your class mates on.

We really enjoyed the family picnic and thank you to all our families for making it perfect. What a fabulous memory!

What we shall be working on next week

We will be preparing for our Leavers' Service and using our reflection learning tool to think about our time at St John’s. We will also be thinking about all the things we have to look forward to in our new schools. We are all really excited about the Year 2 talent show which takes place on Wednesday morning. We are also quite excited about  a special event on Monday that we will be enjoying while the rest of the school move up to their new classes - we will be going to Forest School!

How you can help with home learning

We have been adding up money so you could help your child to count money at home - perhaps from their money box or in someone’s purse? Could you help them to buy something in a shop with a £1 coin? How much change should there be?

General information

Please look out for your child's report as these are coming home in book-bags today.

As mentioned above, we have Forest School on Monday so please come to school wearing tracksuit trousers and a long sleeved top.

Finally, please do come and see our art work on Thursday, 19 July between 2.30pm - 4.00pm at our Art Exhibition.  Art works can be purchased for £8.   For further information, please see this week's newsletter.
