What we have been learning this week
We were excited this week to put our jumping practise to good use as we used the gym equipment. We know we have to push with our toes and bend our knees to jump and bend our knees when we land. We also learned rules to keep us safe when using equipment.
We have really understood that two letters the same make one phoneme eg. hill, miss, off. We have become very good at knowing which number would be one more, and we continue to practise one less.
Then we explored the wonders of God’s world in the wet weather! We took time to marvel at the sights and sounds such as seeing new life shooting through and listening to the birds singing as we remembered all the things God created in the beginning. We began to think of the importance of caring for our environment.
What we shall be working on next week
We will be focusing on the diagraph sh, finding it at the beginning and at the ends of words. We will practise joining these letters together as we write them.
We will be adding numbers together to make number sentences. We had been hoping for snow to aid our topic but we may just have to make do with a pretend version.
How you can help with home learning
Can you go on a walk and spot wonderful things in our world? Remember to tell someone you love them and show you care. Can you compare how long thins are? E.g. first find a stick can you find a stick longer that is longer?
