Welcome back from Yr 2!

06.01.17

Badger class have kicked off the new year by already getting to grips with their "topic" area of The Great Fire of London.  They have especially been working on their questioning words and using question marks.

Our area of science this half term is to understand more about materials.  The children spent some time outside identifying different types of material and finding it in the playground.

We also spent some time thinking about the New Year and the resolutions we might make.  The children came up with lots of ideas about their goals for the year and plenty of them are going to be extremely helpful in making their own beds and doing the washing up!

We would very much like to welcome Izzy to our school.  You can see in the photo that she is being well looked after by the other children and starting to make friends.

Please will you keep working keenly at home on reading.  We want the children to get back into the habit of reading most nights of the week so please note their efforts in their reading diary.  We know that those children who read almost daily, make the best progress, and it is lovely to see and hear their self-confidence as they move to their next schools.

(Finally, please keep bringing in you Pringles tubes!  Also, a not too huge empty cereal packet will be needed by next Thursday - thank you!)
