Rabbits Show They Care

15.02.19

What we have been learning this week

We finished our topic this term with a visit from one of our governors who has explored both the Arctic and Antarctic regions. She had some amazing photographs. We shared in her shock when she described how she saw a blue whale. We tried to learn the name of  the 7 different types of penguins she saw.

We have enjoyed Valentine’s Day to end our focus on love and compassion. We paid each other compliments and observed how it makes us feel when someone compliments us. We also discussed how they feel when we compliment them. We felt lots of love and compassion towards each other. What a caring class you are!

Well done with all your phonics learning keep spotting those sh, ch, th, ng, ai, ow, and ear sounds.

We learned to talk about number patterns to make addition number sentences.

What we shall be working on next week

We will start a new topic on fairytales to coincide with book week. We will be sharing amounts fairly as well as counting, adding and subtracting. Look out for the topic web at the beginning of next term.

How you can help with home learning

Practise learning the tricky truck words coming home today. We are sending home a sheet of wow’s for half term - if your child does something amazing please fill it in and bring it back to school so we can share in your proud moments.

For example this could be swimming, cycling, baking or acts of kindness.

General Information

We do hope you all have a happy healthy half term. We have been encouraging the children to wash their hands properly to try to stop the spread of germs. Do keep practising this all holiday.
