What we have been learning this week

This week we have we have certainly worked our brains hard! We have completed various assessment which will give me a chance to understand what the children are excelling in, and what targets they need to progress their learning more. Taking a break from all the reading, Writing and Maths we have started our hand puppets. We have some great sewers in the class and we will be continuing with these after half term so please reassure anyone who is worried that they haven't started or completed theirs yet.

What we shall be working on next week

After half term we will be looking at the book The Day the Crayons Came Home and learning about letter writing in English. In Maths we will be returning to place value but this time incorporating some addition and subtraction skills as well. We will be creating maps in Geography to help Duncan locate all of his crayons to get them home again.

How parents can help with home learning

Continue with your reading and using your bookmarks. Also practice any tricky spellings from your test books. Any children who have phonics cards please keep practicing them. Have a look at what activities you could do in your activity passport which is being sent home today. Most importantly, have a rest, you thoroughly deserve it! Happy Half Term everyone!
