Rabbits learn all about Chinese New Year!

09.02.18

What we have been learning this week

This week we have enjoyed learning all about the celebrations of Chinese New Year, as well as why and how it is celebrated. We have particularly enjoyed ribbon dancing, dragon and lion dancing, writing Chinese numbers, making dancing dragons and the challenge of how to make a lucky money envelope.

We have also enjoyed our work on Values Day to ensure we have remembered everything we have learned this term. We particularly enjoyed meeting up with our buddies to share loving compliments.

What we shall be working on next half-term

Our topic for next half-term is entitled “Long, long ago” so we will be exploring lots of fairy tales. Do you have a favourite fairy tale? Our phonics will continue, and we will be counting, exploring patterns and shapes.

We are also looking forward to Book Week and a science week.

How you can help with home learning

There will be another set of word cards home today, and keep practising spotting sh, ch, th, ng, ear, ai, and ou in books you read. Also, keep putting the use of words first, second, third, etc, into practice.

Please keep up the good work of this term's value of Love and Compassion by showing kindness, respect and patience.

General information

We have now put a date in the diary of Wednesday, 21 March, at 2.30pm for Rabbit Class Assembly, followed by Stay & Share.

Have a great half term everyone, and enjoy the wonders of God’s world.
