Rabbits think about the very first Christmas
08.12.17
What we have been learning this week
Well another busy week for everyone, as we begin to think about the very first Christmas. We continued our letter learning and enjoyed incorporating it in our play. As "Father Christmas" and his "elf" delivered gifts they used their phonics to read the labels. We used ground graffiti to read and write sounds and words. Oh, and writing those important Christmas lists too!
We used our design and construction skills to build new sleighs with fantastic chutes. One lucky sleigh was even pulled by a team of friendly reindeer...
We send many thanks to the fabulous PTA, as we all really enjoyed the pantomime and hope to use the ideas in our own performances in the future!
What we shall be working on next week
We will be concentrating on shapes and repeating patterns, comparing sizes and weights, all with a Christmas theme of wrapping paper, fairy lights and presents. We are looking forward to our first nativity performance.
We will also be visited by the Weyside Assembly Team next week to learn more about the first Christmas.
How you can help with home learning
If you are wrapping presents at home, can your spot the repeating patterns? Can you compare the weight of two presents? Can you order them by size?
General information
As the weather changes for winter please make sure your child has a warm waterproof coat in school everyday as it is essential.
