Year 2 - Celebrating the book 'The Day the Crayons Quit'

05.12.16

A fantastic day was had by all on our book day this week when the children came dressed as different coloured crayons to celebrate “The Day The Crayons Quit” by Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers.

The children had really enjoyed this playful story and it got them thinking about using colour in new and imaginative ways. One of the activities that we did was to collate data on the number of different colours worn. Then in the afternoon, the children worked collaboratively in groups of three to produce a picture which then inspired a story.

Here are a few pictures of the children dressed in their colour themes and showing the pictures that they have created together.
