Rabbits learn about St George's day

26.04.19

What we have been learning this week

It was fantastic to see everyone back this week to start the summer term. On our first day we celebrated St George’s day, dressing up and day acting out the story. We invented dragons of our own giving them a name.

We then began exploring our new topic title “All aboard!” We are currently focusing on pirates and loved the story Pirates Love Underpants. We have several other super pirate stories to explore too!
We enjoyed grabbing treasure, estimating how much we had grabbed before counting it carefully.

We have also planted up our garden patch - what a busy week rabbit class!

What we shall be working on next week

We have now learned 44 ways of making phonemes in the English language. We will be making sure we know all the letter sounds really well, that we can spot them in words when we read and we can use them when writing.
We willl continue counting carefully as we use addition, and read the story 10 Little Pirates.

How you can help with home learning

Keep estimating how many things you have before counting them carefully. Count anything stones, pebbles, sticks, fruit, Easter eggs!!
