Foxes Get Gardening!

21.04.17

Welcome back everyone!  We hope you all enjoyed the Easter break and the lovely sunshine.

We would like to say well done to the children for all coming into school so well - it was great to see lovely smiles and the chldren so ready to learn - well done Foxes!

This week in our literacy lesson we read the story of "Oliver's Vegetables" and we then learnt about adding- s and -es to words to make them plural. Perhaps you can ask your children at home to see if they can remember what to add? Foxes then went on to write a super vegetable poem.  Next week we will be exploring instructions and how to write them accurately.  We will then go on to use these to make a salad!

In maths we were busy investigating how many different ways we could make two digit numbers, with larger and smaller values, using Numicon.

Next week we will be looking at how to represent numbers using objects and pictorial representations including the number line and using the language of equal to; more than; less than and least.

In Science and Art Foxes really enjoyed learning about the structure of a flower and went on to draw observational pictures of Spring flowers. They were very proud of their work - what super artists you all were!

Next week they will be looking at evergreen and deciduous trees and how they change throughout the the different seasons.

Children will now be given their spellings on a Friday and they have been reminded this week to practice as regularly as possible at home in their yellow spelling books please. Thank you.
