Lunches/Snacks and Milk

School Lunches

The majority of children at St John’s have school lunches. We have excellent catering facilities and food is cooked on the premises using fresh, locally sourced produce wherever possible. Eating together is such a lovely sociable activity and we like to see the children enjoying their lunch times and eating a healthy, varied diet.

Since the Government initiative in September 2014, infant school meals are free for all pupils. If your child would prefer to eat a healthy packed lunch please discuss with the office. Visit the SCC website for more information: https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/schools/at-school/meals/twelve15

Every child is entitled to school milk and parents should register at Milk Club if they would like their child to receive milk.

Milk is provided free by the Government until children reach their fifth birthday, at which point parents will be asked to pay at a subsidised rate for their children to continue to receive milk.

In addition to receiving milk, all children have fresh fruit as snacks at break times, such as apples, bananas and tomatoes.
