Badgers design their bicylces!

05.05.17

Badgers have been doing brilliantly!  They will continue to try their very best for some more sets of quizzes coming up over the next few weeks.

In maths this week children have been practising their multiplication and division methods.  They have been able to use methods they are comfortable with to solve word problems.  In this picture the children are trying to decide whether the word problem is a multiplication question or a division question.

The children have also been designers in English this week!  A few weeks ago they started to design their very own bike, similar to Mrs Armitage’s bike.  If you haven’t read “Mrs Armitage’s Bike”,’ you could always ask the children about what wonderful things she added to her bike.  They revisited the bikes they designed and added even more exciting features!  They have also started to write a fact booklet about the bikes they designed.  Below are a few of the designs the children came up.

In PSHE this week children have been thinking about what their perfect learning environment would look like if a new school was to be built in 2020.  The children came up with some very imaginative ideas, such as a room with a hot tub in it, to help them relax after working really hard, a bird watching area, so they could learn about where birds live and what they eat, and a games room, which would include maths games and phonics games to help the children with their learning.  They are now in the process of writing a persuasive letter to Mrs Gregory to ask her politely for these things.  Wish them luck!

Next week the children will continue with their Yr 2 quizzes.  In English they will complete their fact books and then move on to edit and improve their work.  In maths Badger Class will be revisiting shape and time and will also practise some more mental arithmetic work.

Have a great weekend!
